Be a Part of Our Community Mosaic on Diversity! For Ages 3 to 12 • FREE!Come to the community center and collect your mosaic square (one per child). Take it home, decorate it in a way that describes what DIVERSITY means to you. Use all sorts of decorating items for your creation: buttons, markers, paint, glitter, paper, ribbon, fabric, feathers, photos, etc. Once project is completed, return your square to the center, so it can be incorporated into the center’s mosaic wall. Deadline is June 14.

ABC Tutoring’s Summer Reading Camp Monday to Thursday, June 3 to June 27 from 9:00am to 11:30am for grades 1 to 2; 12:30pm to 3:00pm for grades 3 to 4. Jump start your child's progress by learning reading strategies, assistance with comprehension, phonics, increased vocabulary through use of interactive games, visuals, and reading booklets during group sessions. Inventors Club of Centerville’s Summer Camp for Grades 1 to 8 Monday to Friday, June 3 to August 2 from 8:30am to 4:00pm with after camp care from 4:00pm to 6:00p for an additional fee. Camp is designed to expose youth to science, math, technology, and entrepreneurship. Their minds are guaranteed to be stimulated while learning innovative ideas through hands-on activities, experiments, and creative science. Projects: Lego's, Knexs, Little Bit, Straw Connects, science, classroom planetarium, cardboard challenge, lava lamps, robotics, and more! Bring your lunch and two snacks ‘cause we will be busy! Cost: $65 a week with $30 non-refundable registration fee, and $15 per week for after camp care from 4:00pm to 6:00pm (t-shirt included in registration fee). Traditions: Celebrating the Cultures of the World! For Ages 6 to 12 Monday to Friday, June 3 to 7 from 9:00am to noon; June 24 to 28 from noon to 3:00pm; July 8 to 12 from noon to 3:00pm. This summer the world is coming to your child! Each week campers will learn and celebrate different cultures from around the world through virtual tours, arts and crafts, food preparation and sampling, music and more! Parents are welcome to view art creations and enjoy food sampling on the last day. Cost: Money Orders ONLY, $40 per week ($5 sibling discount or $5 discount for any returning camper of 2012). Law Enforcement Agencies Assisting in Development of Students (L.E.A.A.D.S.) Summer Fun and Learning Camp for Ages 5 to 14Monday to Friday, June 3 to June 14; June 17 to 28; July 1 to 12; July 15 to 26 from 8:30am to 3:30pm with aftercare until 6:30pm. Two-week long camps provide great fun activities for campers while learning about teamwork, responsibility, respect, and self-esteem. Campers enjoy a variety of planned and structured activities each day: obstacle courses, arts and crafts, sports, no-bake cooking, drama, experiments, field trips, and more. Cost: $130 per two-week session, $50 after care fee, $55 one-time, non-refundable registration fee. Now record that vision in a work of art! Artists will lead campers through design steps to assist participants in recording their “visions” on canvas, paper, parchment with pastels, ink, pencil, through paper sculptures, beads, and more. Babysitter’s Training for Ages 11 to 15Friday, June 7 from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Get ready for your summer job! You will receive basic child care and safe play safety training, First Aid, learn about professionalism and leadership skills. Cost: $65 for materials and certification by the American Red Cross.
